Main Responsibilities
Reception and Listening
- Review reports received through the Fier-Play tools.
- Contact individuals who have reached out to the association.
- Provide a supportive, confidential, and non-judgmental listening ear.
- Identify the individual’s expressed needs and expectations.
Referral and Support
- Inform victims about existing support systems and available resources.
- Encourage, when appropriate, the use of the “Signal Sport” institutional reporting system.
- Refer individuals to relevant partners (specialized organizations, legal professionals, psychologists, sports organizations, etc.).
- Follow up on cases under our care.
Continuing or Resuming Sports Participation
- Support individuals who wish to continue or resume a sports activity.
- Identify inclusive sports clubs or organizations within the Fier-Play network.
- Facilitate connections with these organizations when desired.
Contributing to the Fier-Play Network
- Participate in the association’s coordination meetings.
- Report on needs observed in the field.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of support tools and procedures.
Skills
- Proficiency in active listening and conducting interviews.
- Ability to gather and synthesize information thoroughly.
- Ability to support individuals in their efforts without taking over their role.
- Knowledge of or interest in issues related to discrimination, inclusion, and combating LGBTIQ+phobia.
- Proficiency with digital tools (messaging, CRM or tracking software, videoconferencing).
- Compliance with confidentiality and data protection rules.
Selected volunteers will be offered internal training on Fier-Play’s support procedures as well as on the challenges of LGBTIQ+phobia in sports.
