Fier-Play and UFOLEP Join Forces to Promote a More Inclusive Sport
Pride Month marked an important milestone for Fier-Play.
During our morning discussion session dedicated to combating discrimination in sports, held at Rosa Bonheur in the East, we were pleased to formalize a national partnership with UFOLEP.
This event brought together athletes, institutional representatives, organizations, sports federations, and partners united by a common goal: to make sports a space where everyone can participate freely, without fear of being discriminated against because of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.
Throughout the morning, discussions shed light on the realities still faced by many people in the sports world, as well as the concrete initiatives that are helping to change practices.
Testimonials from athletes, feedback from those working on the ground, and remarks from institutional representatives underscored a simple truth: inclusion cannot be decreed; it must be built collectively.

A partnership based on shared values
The signing of this agreement between Fier-Play and UFOLEP is part of this approach.
With more than 338,000 registered members and nearly 7,000 affiliated clubs throughout the country, UFOLEP plays a major role in developing sports that are accessible to everyone.
Our discussions quickly revealed a shared vision of sports: a tool for empowerment, citizenship, and community building.
This agreement provides, in particular, for:
- developing joint initiatives to promote inclusion;
- providing support to sports organizations affiliated with UFOLEP;
- participating in working groups and thematic workshops;
- sharing expertise and educational resources;
- contributing to the work of the Fier-Play Lab;
- developing future joint projects.
Support Rather Than Judge

This partnership is based on a strong conviction: the vast majority of sports organizations want to promote inclusion, but they do not always have the necessary tools or resources.
The goal, therefore, is not to hand out praise or criticism.
The goal is to support clubs, organizations, and leaders who want to make progress, taking into account their specific circumstances, history, and needs.
Every organization is different. Every region is different. Solutions must therefore be tailored and developed over the long term.
A trend that continues
This signing marks the beginning of a collaboration that we hope will be ambitious and long-lasting.
It is fully aligned with the development of the Fier-Play Network, which aims to support sports organizations, assist victims of LGBTIQ+phobia in sports, and raise the visibility of committed athletes through Proud Champions.
We extend our warmest thanks to all the speakers, our institutional partners, Rosa Bonheur à l’Est for hosting us, and everyone who attended this morning’s event.
Together, let’s continue to build a more inclusive, equitable, and respectful sports environment for everyone.
