A safe place to celebrate Paris 2024
Organized by Fier-Play, Pride House · Paris 2024 was a unique space created for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, offering a place for people to meet, exchange ideas, and raise awareness about LGBTIQ+ issues in sport.
During the Paris 2024 Games, this space brought together athletes, spectators, and partners in a safe and festive environment to promote a more inclusive sport and experience the “better living together” desired by the association.
Supported by the entire French sports movement (the Ministry of Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the French National Olympic Committee (CNOSF), and the French Paralympic Committee (CPSF)) as well as the City of Paris and the Île-de-France region, this Pride House was also the first to receive official support from the International Olympic Committee.
More than an event, a legacy
This event was also designed with the aim of leaving a legacy to make French sport more inclusive. To this end, Fier-Play has created “Le LAB,” a set of three working groups organized around three themes:
Sport & homosexuality
towards a more inclusive sport
At the request of the CNOSF
Transgender and non-binary people in sports
At the request of the Ministry of Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games
Women and lesbians in sports
At the request of the City of Paris
The aim of this LAB was to propose turnkey solutions tailored to the State, local authorities, sports federations, and associations so that they could legislate and/or act quickly in favor of sport for all.
These initiatives continue today through the actions of Fier-Play, which aims to bring about lasting change in the sporting landscape in terms of diversity and equality. The association’s new areas of focus embody this legacy and aim to further expand its impact.
